Scott was very helpful in making the process of obtaining a homeowner’s loan as seamless and convenient as possible for me. He was very knowledgeable in every aspect of the loan process. He was always available if I had questions or concerns, even after the normal schedule of 9:00 to 5:00. He went out of his way to schedule appointments that were convenient with my work schedule. As my house was sold, I was in a tight time frame to close on my new home. He worked diligently on scheduling the closing on the date that was convenient for me. He worked closely with my real estate agent to assure that everything was in line for a successful closing. Scott is definitely a “people person” always working with his customer’s best interest in mind.

Even though it was not mandatory for Scott to be present at the closing, he chose to attend. He wanted to be sure that he was available for me if questions arose.

I was referred to Scott Hines by a realtor friend of mine. She ensured me he was excellent to work with so I decided to call him, after my many attempts to work with different banks and loan companies for a low interest rate.

Being a first time homebuyer, this was a new process and I felt very unsure of trusting anyone because I've been told by friends that there are so many hidden fees and tricks used to obtain your business for a loan. Unlike the other banks where 6.7%-7.3% interest was basically the lowest offered, Scott was able to secure me a 5.7% interest rate plus with lower closing costs than the other companies!

I was so excited but still hesitant because it seemed too good to be true, even with my great credit history. After some personal research of reading mortgage books and studying the terms, I realized that this was an excellent offer. Scott was even so assured that this was the lowest offer, he told me that if I found a better offer from another company, he'd follow through on his end.

So, I proceeded with the loan and purchased my first home. I also decided to purchase my home without a realtor. Being a first time homebuyer, I'd never recommend this as a good choice because of the stress involved and not having anyone to help during the process (realtor). I can't speak highly enough of Scott because he went above and beyond to assist me when I was having trouble with the the seller regarding the contract. This normally is handled by the realtor but because I was alone in the process, I asked Scott since I was desparate for advice. He was always available to assist me and answer my questions. I can assure you that no other loan company would have done this. The patience that Scott showed me during my frazzled moments is beyond words. I so appreciate that he assisted me as much as he did. To conclude, I'm very happy in my new home and have Scott to thank for making a dream of mine come true.
